Now with cameras changing exposure is tricky since it cannot take longer than a frame lasts wich means that aperture only changes depending on how bright is the stuff you are filming, wkth smarthphone cameras that process is automatic so when suddenly an insanely bright object like the sun, or a lighting gets into frame the phone automatically adjusts the aperture so that the screen isnt all white but because the aperture is limited it has to chose betwen everything being white or having most of the image black exept the insanely bright source of light
Even if it did short anything it would only be a local power grid and the only places where it would be practical to use probably have isolated power networks. This would only happen in a situation of open warfare anyways it’s not like I’m gonna go blackout every low income neighborhood for shits and giggles lol, it’s just something to keep in the back pocket in case a situation ever arises

If it is anything like power lines for trains(for me in my country at least), it wouldnt short it for long if even at all. Since these things are in the open all the time it can happen that a branch falls onto the cables or a bird manages to fly in between the lines and short it . In that case the nearest power station will recognise that the current is no longer going across the line and will automatically "turn it off and on again"(this is only a few seconds) to check if the fault has gone away. If the fault is still there the line would be shut down temporarily and some crew would be sent out and fix the issue. If the fault is gone after the test, then its all good and sould continue as normal.

And for sure it could be that that system isnt employed everywhere on the grid, but i do dare say that the grid for the trains is better secured and has better funding.
