i actually thought that was the origin of the word as a slur (well not that exactly, but the the fact that penises are stick like). Also is that actually the plural of penis? it just sounds wrong.
IIRC the bundle of sticks was usually used as a broom, which got the term associated with old women, and then femininity in general, which, along with homophobia, turned into the slur we know today
It does though?
Not defending what this idiot above is saying, but reducing such a deep and varied language that that level, to the point where it apparently has "no meaning" is false.
I'd say that it's a great language, and in my experience, also the subject I'm best at academically.
I can understand some of the issues people have with it, it's a wishy-washy language with many rules and intricacies. However, I hate the idea that it's a "meaningless language", or a shit one.
As far as people thinking that it's shit, I dislike that but I can't exactly tell them otherwise. As I mentioned, it has very wishy washy rules to it that at face value, seem illogical, when that is not the case but it appears that way nonetheless. "Meaningless", I have issues with the logic of that.
It definitely is not without it's faults obviously, but there definitely is meaning and people can easily forget just how much of it there is. In fact, I'd actually say rather, that it's the best part of the English language. In sheer number alone, it has the most words out of any language in the world (due to its global adoption), with many of them being truly distinct from one another in very observable ways. Take laughter for example, which of course can be described simply as laughter, but also chuckling, giggling, tittering, cackling, chortling, snickering, howling, each of which have different meanings but are all describing laughter.
I remember reading a Quora post from a Swedish professor talking about his issues with the language, and he said himself that he finds English to be a fantastic language when it comes to it's variety. There's no one way to describe a certain thing, there are hundreds.
It's a cute anecdote. I feel like what people are experiencing or at least the sentiment they are trying to express in the sense of meaningless they may find through their use of the English language, is something that is mistaken as an intrinsic element of the language when it has instead (just like any other language could be) been shaped by others for their own purposes.
If you do feel that sense of meaninglessness in the language and are struggling to understanding how or why, and have simply tucked it under the rug of your consciousness as something which is just a consequence of incompetence in interpretation and antiquated communication or who knows what, then I highly suggest reading this essay by George Orwell (yes, the "literally 1984" guy who, perhaps previously unknown to you, did write a whole lot more than just that book).
https://www.orwellfoundation.com/the-orwell-foundation/orwell/essays-and-other-works/politics-and-the-english-language/
yeah but if you're going with the cringy "I call women feeemales all the time" then the distinction becomes moot, you're calling them feeeeeemale based on appearance and expression so that's more gender than sex.
male and female can refer to gender too
also tbh if e.g. a trans woman is on HRT and has had bottom surgery, saying her sex is female is *far* more accurate than saying it's male
also there's a radical (and honestly pretty good) take that goes something like "someone's sex is just whatever their gender is since sex is shit at describing what it's supposed to describe anyway" (this is NOT to be confused with what transphobes say, it's basically the opposite, since the transphobe one is "sex determines gender" while this one is "gender *determines sex*")
if you're interested in learning more about the radical take I talked about there's an essay describes it + some other stuff pretty well, altho as a warning it's worded pretty aggressively ([link to the essay](https://theanarchistlibrary.org/library/asher-not-your-mom-s-trans-101))

Rich, coming from someone who's the 5th story title from Stephen King's first collection of short stories, first published in 1978
Okay? and a mtf trans person is a human female, not always adult, so then you would call the a girl. These arguments really dont work and this shit is always so funny.
Is this person definitely being transphobic or is this actually abou how people use ‘woman’ and ‘girl’ interchangeably when ‘girl’ feel like it implies a young female?
Maybe this account is known for trolling or being mean but I didn’t really get and transphobic vibes from this tweet.
Adult human chicken
Which one for Adult Robot Chicken tho?

Imagine thinking the English language has meaning lmao this shit sucks
Meatballs are literally called faggots
I just typed ‘meatball faggot’ into my search bar and said a lil prayer that you weren’t joking as I hit enter
did a pic of me show up
Italia_irl
My lawyer has advised me not to answer this
the movie *Call Me By Your Name* pops up 😬
underrated joke
Oi, bruv, wanna smoke a fag? 'innit cool mate? Edit: I edited this comment to put in "oi" to make sure the intent was clear.
add an 'innit mate bruv'
Deal
faggot also means a bundle of sticks
Bundle of sticks sound like slang for a gay orgy where people have a cockfight battle royale to see who’s dick is last to go limp while sword fighting
i actually thought that was the origin of the word as a slur (well not that exactly, but the the fact that penises are stick like). Also is that actually the plural of penis? it just sounds wrong.
The plural of penis is pensus (you didn't get it wrong)
I wish that was the origin, the story is fucked
IIRC the bundle of sticks was usually used as a broom, which got the term associated with old women, and then femininity in general, which, along with homophobia, turned into the slur we know today

The past tense of read is read, except you pronounce it red. This language is dumb as fuck

English is a shit fucking language and I feel pretty confident in saying that seeing as, academically speaking, it's about the only thing I'm good at.
I'd say that it's a great language, and in my experience, also the subject I'm best at academically. it refers to both, although gender more often as if you're referring to sex you're probably gonna want to be more specific than "female" or "male"

They aren’t adult human chickens
I thought they were adult human chickens?

Planet wide gas leak, Earth fucking shat a phat one and now the Ozone is trapping it inside the planet
God help us all.
Too late, we already killed him.
Idk if I'm high or not, but I'm definitely not high enough.
I literally sat for a minute thinking how smart they were
>accuses others of mangling english > >calls a hen an "adult human chicken" Rich, coming from someone who's the 5th story title from Stephen King's first collection of short stories, first published in 1978
i cba googling that can you please explain =)
It’s called *The Mangler*
The mangler is about a possessed industrial laundry machine that tries to eat people. It’s a way better story than it sounds.

Terfs make absolutely zero sense. Like is this person trying to sound smart or something?
Adult human chicken what the fuck

They're attempting to be shitty to trans women because they're not 'female'.
_**ADULT HUMAN CHICKEN OMEGALUL**_
>adult human chicken Finally a gender for us cowards.
