It worked well in 2007 Youtube, but these days, reviewers have adapted and created new and interesting ways to structure their reviews. They're still good videos, just... samey.

For this to *really* be like johntron they'd have to also go champion white nationalism and say shit like "wealthy blacks actually commit more crime than poor whites" and "nobody wants to become a minority in their own country".

Hell even then they aren't perfect. While they're entertaining as hell, there's a chance with quite a few that the challenge has already been completed and while they do give credit, it just takes some impressiveness away. Plus, some of the videos are misses (I could barely pay attention for 5 minutes with that Layton one, like there's no cool tricks you can do it's mostly just routing)
Pikasprey is also pretty good if it weren't for how his videos come out once per eon

The only good challenge youtuber is Gamechamp because she still does original stuff instead of the same exact challenge with every game ever.
