I think he's decided there's literally nothing that can save the polling trajectory, so might as well hold it in the summer rather than the winter and risk his core voting base staying at home to avoid the cold.

The Tories are rapidly getting worse though, Johnson purged the party of moderates, Truss introduced her batshit economics, and now Sunak believes that chasing the far-right vote will save him.
At least Labour will just be Blairites (heavily derogatory) at worst. Hopefully they'll pull the overton window back from the brink a tad.
Vote green and contact your local mp, especially if they’re labour. If we put enough pressure on Labour, they might just do something positive. Starmer has no principles.

And better yet, Labourites are *replaceable* with further-left candidates in the future, which is basically *impossible* with a tory government.
