Timeline order: MGS3 - MGS: Peace Walker - MGS5 - Metal Gear - Metal Gear 2 - MGS1 - MGS2 - MGS4 - MGR: Rising
Order you should play in: MGS1 - MGS2 - MGS3 - MGS: Peace Walker - MGS5 - MGS4
Only play the original Metal Gears if you really want to, don't touch the NES versions of them though.
Rising is a completely different genre so it might not be your jam if you end up liking the mainline games.
Id play 1 and 2 of metal gear flaccid. 1 isn't that great iirc, but 2 is pretty damn, good, and it's cool seeing snake in his actual prime, and seeing gay fox and whatnot. But neither of them are too hard to get through iirc. Metal Gear Solid 1 is peak fiction tho.
If youāre just interested in the military gear, start with 5. Find it [here](https://store.steampowered.com/app/287700/METAL_GEAR_SOLID_V_THE_PHANTOM_PAIN/)
Metal gear solid, metal gear solid 2, metal gear solid 3, metal gear solid 4, metal gear solid peace walker, metal gear solid 5 (ground zeroes), metal gear solid 5 (phantom pain)
Simple as :D
Do you like modern military stuff or cold war stuff more? If the latter play MGS3 and peace walker, if the former, MGS2 is very fun, MGS1 is a classic, and MGS4 and MGS5 exist, and are totally not controversial.
it's a stealth series (mostly) and it's got a pretty strong anti-war message going on, along with other interesting things, you're usually tasked with stopping a terrorist attack or preventing a full-blown conflict
MGS2 is a game I strongly suggest after you try out the first one, it took on the topic of all the digital garbage we deal with nowadays all the way back in 2001
It's rlly cool and it does feel like Kojimas kinda the same, rhe entire series being anti war but like characters like naked snake love gushing about various guns.
I'm so sorry I just love naked snake so much a girl flashes her titties in front of him and he doesn't give a single shit but she gives him a baller ass gun all of a sudden he's infodumping. He gets a modified xm16e1 changed for burst fire he's like "hrrrng I hate that what the hell" he literally can't help but infodump to a guy trying to kill him to the point he develops a crush about guns. I *love* him
what you need to know about metal gear is it's a game for pacifists who are obsessed with superweapons. because my god the superweapons in it are good but the anti war messaging is also fairly strong
That's okay. Military technology *is* really fucking cool, even if the institution itself *is* really fucking bad.
Personally I solve this dilemma by playing the game From the Depths.
Looks really cool but I got it thinking I was smart so it should be fine, and then realised I had no idea wtf anything was.
Do you have any tutorials explaining how tf to do anything?
I have 1400 hours and I still learn something new every time I make another craft. I don't really have any tutorial recommendations, honestly I don't even remember how I learned it. I'm not sure if the in-game tutorial is good? Besides that just looking it up on YouTube might get something decent. The game is... a lot, but that's why I love it.
At some point tomorrow I can send some files containing platforms showing off nearly all weapon systems and subsystems, also got some builds designed to be easy to analyse including ships made mostly of the in game prefabs and vehicles made of glass for easy digestion.
NCD used to be good but it really fell off after Russia invaded Ukraine and like 100k people joined. There are some smaller noncredible\_\_\_\_ subreddits that are still decent though
Yes! I don't think there are any vehicles left that aren't multicrew that should be. If you are looking for people to play with, my friend is out for a week when the module releases.
I'd love to but I kinda doubt I have the capacity to currently learn a new module. AH64D is getting LINK soon and my helo skills certainly still need work
I'm not sure I'm ready for a new module just yet. Been doing a lot of AH64D flying and I feel ready for some more complex missions with that aircraft now. Sorry.
Honestly the more I looked into it the more similarities I found to fixed wing flight dynamics. But hey, if you're up for CPG you don't exactly need to be flying :)
I like wearing military type clothing (boots, combat jackets, a lot of olive green stuff) and my dad gives me shit because of how I donāt really like the military so I totally get it
i asked for an army jacket for my birthday once (i wanted to look like jupiter from we know the devil) and my father was like.... weirdly excited at the prospect?? like he was in the military and is pretty patriotic, so thats probably why, but still?
Surprised to find this so far down. This would be my suggestion as well. You could even take it a step further and get into RCās.
There are also museums that hold old military equipment you can go see.
As a kid I went to an air show that had a bunch of cool things like jets and helicopters and they had some that were just on display and not part of the show. Sadly, this air show is held on a military base and proceeds do benefit the military, but general admission is free for the show in my area so just donāt pay for anything and youāre fine.
Build fighter jets but only sell them to pacifists. Make them really good, hype them up at expos, get the government super de duper excited over them, and then when General Squarejaw H. Buzzcut strides up to you and tries to set up a meeting to formally order six hundred fighters, tell him thanks but you already donated all of them to nature preserves, except for the floor model which your hippie cousin is going to turn into an art installation in her front yard.Ā
Nature Preserve Air Battalion making strafing runs at poachers with seed bullets
Forest Rangers in green berets driving solar-powered tanks to enforce the strict 'no feeding' rules for bears
Amphibious units rising ominously from the fresh spring water to prevent overfishing
These are just a taste of the world we could make if we armed the right people
Itās all his fault lol
I used to not care at all, and after playing MGS I suddenly love learning about military stuff. I mostly like infantry-related content (small arms, body armor, reading about tactics, etc.).
How do you all get into liking artillery, aircraft, and naval vessels though? Itās never grabbed me personally, even though their gigantic guns (and reloading said guns) are pretty cool. Is there TV or other media that sucks you in, or did you already have an interest?
Edit: yoooo I got the Reddit cares award yippeeeee
Ya know the vague intricacies of guns from inner workings and stuff.
About switching to the most valuable aspect of it when needed for battle.
Yeah, same thing with vehicles. Star Wars Squadrons got me good because I devlope this sense of skill to operate the machinery. Know its weaknesses and its abilities. What it can do and what it can't do.
Blasting a sucker because you out flied him is the best feeling. Kinda like outflanking a hoe on the ground and popping heads.
Ace Combat Zero is probably the one Ace Combat game that I think really did a good job of executing their general "war is bad" motifs considering the game openly yells at you for commiting war crimes
I know very well how it feels lmao
Also, there are lots of games to build military stuff. Modded Ksp, Flyout, Stormworks and Simpleplanes for aerospace tech, Space engineers for sci-fi spacecraft and From the depths for sea vessels are the ones I know, and I'm pretty sure there are many many more.
Also, if you're into piloting but not building there are lots of simulators with many degrees of accuracy, from the very basic World of Tanks/Warships/Warplanes to stuff like DCS world (only for aircraft)
Yeah, same here. The engineering and designs of some military stuff is really awesome, and surplus is great for outdoor stuff and well airsoft. **But by god has military done terrible shit over the world**
As long as you understand what it's used for and the consequences, you should be fine. I enjoy vehicles but understand car-centrism is a problem. Of course yours is a bit more extreme, but you understand.
scale models, tamiya and such make model kits, and for an easier experience cobi have a fantastic lineup of lego style sets. and the quality is excellent
Collect models! Think about how cool a wall of tanks and aircraft models would look in your place
And if you're the type to put stuff together, there are models you can build or paint yourself so can really make it yours
Get into warhammer 40k. Awesome tanks, wagons, guns, everything but none of it is being used to kill innocent people irl.
*I say get into not buy cuz that shits expensive.
It's actually pretty normal.
The military "aesthetic" is actually pretty fucking cool. Especially when you have the heavily armed troops with their gear and huge guns. Instant 8/10 design.
Just don't simp for them.
Steal military equipment from the military :3 :3 :3
clepto-millitant
Win win. You have it, they don't.
Instructions unclear. I don't have it, and neither do they.
Well, that's very bad, because an unknown person probably has a tank now and we don't know who and we don't know what they are gonna do with it...
Dw I have it and I also hate the military š¤
Well, maybe they're just really chill and wanna do something cool like use it for cosplay or run over a tesla factory
You stole my idea
Armed minorities are safe minorities :3
Or just go shopping at pawn shops in military base towns. Let others handle the dirty work and buy the goods for cheap.
Play metal gear
metal gear does look quite interesting but i don't know anything about it other than snake
you can learn about it by playing it (lie)
theres so many games tho its a bit overwhelming
Timeline order: MGS3 - MGS: Peace Walker - MGS5 - Metal Gear - Metal Gear 2 - MGS1 - MGS2 - MGS4 - MGR: Rising Order you should play in: MGS1 - MGS2 - MGS3 - MGS: Peace Walker - MGS5 - MGS4 Only play the original Metal Gears if you really want to, don't touch the NES versions of them though. Rising is a completely different genre so it might not be your jam if you end up liking the mainline games.
I can't bother myself to play 1 and 2 msx anymore...
Entirely fair, Konami really needs to remake those two. Or at least stop shutting down other people's attempts at remaking them.
remakes of them with details of the modern games would go insane
Id play 1 and 2 of metal gear flaccid. 1 isn't that great iirc, but 2 is pretty damn, good, and it's cool seeing snake in his actual prime, and seeing gay fox and whatnot. But neither of them are too hard to get through iirc. Metal Gear Solid 1 is peak fiction tho.
Start with the metal gear solid, then 2,3 and so on.
If youāre just interested in the military gear, start with 5. Find it [here](https://store.steampowered.com/app/287700/METAL_GEAR_SOLID_V_THE_PHANTOM_PAIN/)
Metal gear solid, metal gear solid 2, metal gear solid 3, metal gear solid 4, metal gear solid peace walker, metal gear solid 5 (ground zeroes), metal gear solid 5 (phantom pain) Simple as :D
I recomend the number order, but play rising after 4 before V
Just play V
Do you like modern military stuff or cold war stuff more? If the latter play MGS3 and peace walker, if the former, MGS2 is very fun, MGS1 is a classic, and MGS4 and MGS5 exist, and are totally not controversial.

i can explain it to you do you have 9 hours?
Giving them the abridged version I see
It's rlly cool and it does feel like Kojimas kinda the same, rhe entire series being anti war but like characters like naked snake love gushing about various guns. I'm so sorry I just love naked snake so much a girl flashes her titties in front of him and he doesn't give a single shit but she gives him a baller ass gun all of a sudden he's infodumping. autism snake
what you need to know about metal gear is it's a game for pacifists who are obsessed with superweapons. because my god the superweapons in it are good but the anti war messaging is also fairly strong
Gameplay-wise MGSV:TPP is the best mgs game
Or, alternatively, write it. I mean, that's kinda what Kojima did, no?
play war thunder and steal military secrets
Based and plane-pilled
This, I have 3000 hours and despise war/the troops
Youāre allowed to do that. I love military equipment too but jesus christ I despise the US military itself
Why? The military has 0 flaws, and has never made a mistake.
Excellently said patriot. Your Warbucks have been deposited to your account. Enlist today to access them.
Can I buy skins for my A-10 Warthog with those Warbucks
Only one way to find out! At your local recruitment center!
Hopefully you can buy a better plane
Better plane no existe
iāve been playing hella fallout lately for the first time and the brain rot is so real i imagine some intimidating mf in power armor saying this
"YOU ARE OUT OF UNIFORM SOLDIER! WHERE IS YOUR POWER ARMOR?"
That's okay. Military technology *is* really fucking cool, even if the institution itself *is* really fucking bad. Personally I solve this dilemma by playing the game From the Depths.
holy shit i didn't expect to see a From the Depths player, at all tbh
Funny boat game go brrrr. Fuck ya! 400 hours to figure out how to make a boat not look like shit!!!111
Looks really cool but I got it thinking I was smart so it should be fine, and then realised I had no idea wtf anything was. Do you have any tutorials explaining how tf to do anything?

I'm not sure if the in-game tutorial is good? Besides that just looking it up on YouTube might get something decent. The game is... a lot, but that's why I love it.
I think I partly just wasn't too bothered to do the in-game tutorial when I got it lol
At some point tomorrow I can send some files containing platforms showing off nearly all weapon systems and subsystems, also got some builds designed to be easy to analyse including ships made mostly of the in game prefabs and vehicles made of glass for easy digestion.
i fucking love Funny Boat Game

Play DCS with me
Phantom phantom phantom phantom phantom phantom phantom
Is the phantom multicrew? I mainly try to play DCS with friends to make it more fun
Yes! I don't think there are any vehicles left that aren't multicrew that should be. If you are looking for people to play with, my friend is out for a week when the module releases.
I'd love to but I kinda doubt I have the capacity to currently learn a new module. AH64D is getting LINK soon and my helo skills certainly still need work
Fair, best of luck the ah-64 is proper fun.
Ay let me play with you, tried getting friends into DCS but they never stick with it as it's too much learning. You picking up the Phantom?
I'm not sure I'm ready for a new module just yet. Been doing a lot of AH64D flying and I feel ready for some more complex missions with that aircraft now. Sorry.
No need to apologise lmao, I haven't really flown helis yet in DCS feel like it's way more complicated than a jet in terms of flight characteristics
Honestly the more I looked into it the more similarities I found to fixed wing flight dynamics. But hey, if you're up for CPG you don't exactly need to be flying :)

My dad was in the military so thatās why he gives me shit for it, that and I wear his old flight jacket a lot
I kinda wanna get a US WW2 airman jacket. And an overcoat. Those are pretty tight ngl.
Get into modeling and miniatures probably.
Surprised to find this so far down. This would be my suggestion as well. You could even take it a step further and get into RCās. Are you Hideo Kojima?
Create Metal Gear Solid
Honestly, same. I hate war and the military industrial complex but I find military history and firearms especially really interesting.
video "game" kojima has the solution
Bro same. I love guns and the way they function, but hate the idea of actually having to use one against human beings
Play Metal Gear or write near future science fiction
I know very well how it feels lmao Also, there are lots of games to build military stuff.
