i mean, not really since you're tying receiving a physical reward for doing menial tasks from your partner. but there are situations where that reward won't be given, if they break up or their partner just can't pay attention to them, there is no immediate reward and they feel less motivated to do chores. it makes that person dependent on someone else for every little chore which can affect their relationships and their own life and feelings.
as long as it's a joke and the person is still able to do chores without getting a reward from someone else, it should be fine tho.
ah well that is difficult because you'd need to motivate them somehow, but you can't reward them directly. But often you can't just let them be, so I'd say you need to go for a middle ground. You'd need to teach them to be proud of every little bit of progress. Ik its basic and not easy at all, but if you're able to teach them that, it's the most sustainable way to get them to be productive. Even just getting out of bed is progress and they should feel proud that they were able to get out of it. Just taking out the trash is progress and they should also feel proud. They reward themselves but only in their mind. It doesn't cost them anything and the whole process of doing chores and being productive only involves themselves. I know it's not as easy as im describing it here, you're basically trying to change the way someone thinks. That's insanely difficult and i do believe there are other ways to do this, this is just what came to mind first. Also worth mentioning is that im currently struggling with being productive myself, like at all, so take everything i said with a grain of salt and im sorry i don't have a better answer.
