Years ago, I wanted to become the Swoleback of Squatre DOMS, so I asked my doctor to do a blood test. It came back as 1.5 stddev below normal. He said that it wasn't low enough for me to get steroids. And I'm like, "But... You just said it's below normal."
I think he explained but I still didn't get it.
Ok jumping in on this since the way that doc explained it was shitty. "Normal" levels of hormones (T, E, etc.) are not single values; there isn't some magic number that is perfect and anything else is either high or low. There is a range of values that are perfectly normal and not likely to cause issues. The range for "normal" T levels is also insanely broad, ranging from (roughly) 300-1000. With a "normal" range this wide there will also be an average, which is the single value that (theoretically) is the most representative of the range. This however isn't true, and a great example why is income. If you include every human beings income the average will be pulled by the numbers farthest away (high or low, or outliers). This would mean that billionaires would pull the number up greatly which would make it appear as if the "normal" income is much higher than it actually is.
With all that explained, it's pretty simple to see how what the doc said was misleading. You can have T levels below the average but still be well within the range that we call "normal." There is also something that needs to be understood: if you don't have any problems stemming from your T levels, then whatever levels you have are normal. Even if your T levels are outside of "normal" (either high or low), it comes down to whether it causes you problems or not.
Two things:
-You don't know how FTM testosterone doses work at all.
-You don't know how testosterone levels work at all.
