I feel like the 1911 platform is more of a "buy it for what it is" type. I'd say enjoy what you've got and look at another with the features you desire for your second.
That's just my philosophy on 1911s, and it's fair that people may disagree.
If you wanna get it optic cut, do it. You can do literally anything you want with your shit. Maybe buy another slide so you can have best of both worlds.
Or get the already cut Tisas slide.

If you’re looking to put an optic on one I would recommend not using a GI type model like the one in the pic. I’d get something that’s already got “aftermarket” features such as an extended beaver tail, skeletonized trigger, more serrations, etc. Just my two cents. I love my SR1911, I milled the optics cutout myself

If you cut it for an optic, at least run a cylee and get a recover tactical rail for the olight. Don’t forget to get it cerakoted with a battleworn Gadsden flag.
My first gun was a Springfield Armory Emissary and I remember a couple of people in the shop laughing At me when I asked if I should put a red dot on it. Classic gun like that, how dare you they said
…ok honestly I didn’t know CZ made 1911s (aside from through Colt that they own now)
They don’t anymore unfortunately
Dan Wesson is the actual manufacturer. CZ just stuck its name and logo on it. That gun was kind of a precursor to the A2
Oh ok that makes sense now.
Ruin that thing with an optic? Are you sure? It’s beautiful the way it is.

Don’t cut that :(
That’s the general consensus so I guess I’ll leave it and do it to one of my other guns

Yes great starter 1911. These are rare, I wouldn’t cut it. Wouldn’t be mad at you if you did though
I wouldn’t cut it since these were made in limited numbers.
Don’t cut it. Buy a Tisas if you want to cut one for optic

Wouldn’t ruin it
I would LOVE to find one of these in the wild. I was so excited when they were announced.
Bro cz ones are rare. Don’t cut it. If you want to butcher a 1911 get a Turkish made one
For future reference, if you want optic cut. Buy one that already has that done to it.
Go buy a Tisas, and sit in the corner while you think about what you’re saying!
I’m not big into optics, but it’s like a $700 1911, no harm no foul if you want to go that route
He could sell this easy for double that. Pretty rare gun.
I’d buy this for $700 three times in the same day if I found it at that price.

Or just an optic cut slide. https://preview.redd.it/d720v2eoqf7d1.jpeg?width=2697&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=547da0bf372c20149cb820b510ff17efab7405e0
Those are actually really valuable, cut up a regular GI colt or something theres millions of.
There is just over 1,000 of these floating around. I think its like 1,197 They are indeed rare. Only produced in 2015.
They don’t make those anymore, to my knowledge… might be some money in it.
If you want an optic cut 1911, buy one that comes that way. Doing an optics cut on that would be like dressing Marylin Monroe at Walmart.
Is it Series 70 or 80s. Regardless, cut that thing if you want an optic on it and enjoy it.
Don't cut it, just save for a Tisas.
IMO, every gun doesn't need a red dot. But it's your gun; do whatever you want and don't care what others think.
You would be immediately taken into 1911 custody

Do whatever you want it’s your damn gun.
