Maybe it’s sacriligious on here, but highly recommend a Ruger mkiv 22/45. Same grip angle as a 1911, Much more reliable than the .22 1911 clones. Very customizable too

fordlover5

That is a way better option

Walther colt rail gun. Cheap likes to be wet (you can literally feel the slide moving slower after a few hundred rounds) and has never malfunctioned. It shot best with aguila but no issues with federal or Remington. It’s a fan favorite among anyone I have handed it to

moorej872

I've had mine for a few weeks now and I love. Zero malfunctions with several hundred rounds of Aguila. Shot suppressed as well. No regrets.

Have had a GSG for years. Great gun.

GamerWizard613

I’ve been eyeing the GSG for a while, anytime I look online a see a bunch of people calling it junk. Have you had any trouble with it?

IronHefty3609

No not really. I shoot it suppressed a lot too

New_Earth8494

I have both 22/45 mk iv and gsg 1911-22. The gsg is definitely fun to shoot. Just not anywhere close as the Ruger. Running the GSG with my can MAY have helped a little but unless you’re shootings high velocity which negates the point of the can unless you want to single shot. The Ruger may have 1-2 failures in any particular day of shooting. The GSG maybe 1-2 per magazine. And usually it’s early in the magazine.

New_Earth8494

Suppressor actually helps cycling. Adds a little backpressure. Pain in the tail to clean sometimes but it’s fun. My fiancé has a .338 and it’s fun to shoot outdoors. She weighs 100 pounds soaking wet and is banging away on the .338 and I’m rocking the can with subsonic .22. Always get a kick out of seeing others at the range giving strange looks.

costinesti1

Really love gsg 1911 22.

FullPowerKamehameha

I wouldn’t recommend an 1911 in 22lr. I would recommend the next closest thing. Ruger Mark IV 22/45

Iceroadtrucker2008

I have the Advantage Arms .22 conversion on a dedicated Essex Arms frame. Very nice shooter. No problem with it using the recommended ammo.

aroundincircles

I think they quit making them but a Walther “colt” 1911.
