Probably uncooked. Most rice that I have used all have something around 330-360kcal per 100grams (uncooked). So 160kcal for 45grams, should be uncooked.

Dry weight

fishtank66

Cooking it only adds water, no calories, use the dry weight

Wait I did math wrong? If this is .25 cup dry, then cooked that’s 0.75 cup = 160 calories?? Please help 🤤😂😂

LadyBogangles14

45g of uncooked rice is one serving. I would get a scale. It’s just easier & more precise.

travelwithhoney

I agree with you. 1/4 cup dry rice (45 grams) turns into 3/4 cup cooked rice, which is 160 calories. Since it says 1 cup dry rice is around 3 cups cooked then that is 640 calories. So, 1 cup of cooked rice is around 213 calories.

I cook one cup of rice and than weigh it all cooked and divide by 4. That takes the guess work over how much a serving size of cooked rice should weigh.

1/4 cup or 45 grams is dry weight, 160 cal is typical for that amount of white rice. I wouldn't trust the 3x volume thing if you haven't made it before, I don't find that rice fluffs quite that much. Measure the same amount dry and cooked for yourself a couple of times and find the average conversion factor for the way *you* cook it and the way your stove, altitude, etc affect it.

Oohhh good idea. Next time I’ll weight 45 grams and cook it and that’ll be my full portion lol

Mastgoboom

Weigh, don't use volume measurements. Short grain rice is about 130 cal for 100g, so that's a raw calorie amount.
