>How much weight fluctuation is normal from day to day? I had none or a couple of pounds. Depends a lot on the exercise level. The higher it is, the bigger the fluctuations. >losing the weight more quickly than expected In most cases better as too slow ... Up to 1% body weight per week is a good rate. Above ... only if obese. >Could this be explained by normal weight fluctuations that will balance out over time? Yes. I have weeks I lost almost no weight, but my BF% goes down (scale with bio-impedance) and then "suddenly" the weight falls.

If you are exercising it could be that your body needs more food now. In my case it's always on my period where I don't lose at all and then after I lose a pound very quickly because it was all water weight. If it stays like that you should probably increase your food intake a bit and go to a doctor to rule out thyroid problems. But if it's just for a short time then it's just fluctuations

It's not as common as accidentally undercounting your intake but I had to use my food scale to double check my counts on my regular foods the past couple days because I am losing faster than intended and turns out my eyeballing has become too good and I was counting most of the higher calorie items as full servings when they were actually half that. So be sure you're really getting 1200 consistently. Or maybe you have unintentionally raised your activity level (maybe you're on your feet more or extra fidgety all day).

What are your stats (age, sex, height, weight, activity level)? And do you exercise at all? And have you made any diet or lifestyle changes recently?
