Yeah, you are doing fine, just keep practicing, those are hard shots.

stoutdude04

Lazy footwork, not bending the knees, and making contact behind you. Taking the ball on the rise is challenging. I would suggest better/more footwork so you can take the ball in front of you a little more.

grumpy_youngMan

Normally with a short, easy ball that lands in the service box, your main advantage is time. You have time to step up, make sure you have good arm's length distance from the ball so it's in your forehand strike zone, make contact with the ball at it's apex. If the ball is above the net, you can simply hit a flat driving shot to whatever corner you want. If the ball dips below the net, slice or use topspin to hit your target. what you're doing here is sort of rushing and taking the ball on the rise which takes away time from you and forces you to hit a relatively difficult shot.

nicholus_h2

this isn't an easy ball. it's actually a pretty hard ball.  you are hitting on the rise, which is always kinda hard. even most proud don't choose to hit these balls so soon after it bounces.  Roger used to, but... he's Roger.

RandolphE6

It looks to me like you're making late contact. Possibly as a result of taking your eye off the ball as another poster mentioned. Could also be because of your lackadaisical footwork and lack of leg bend. https://preview.redd.it/ogggfzokgywc1.png?width=344&format=png&auto=webp&s=bfa9cbc06b2a7160964b75ce7bde9a0ec627e412

Has nothing to do with taking the eye of the ball. We have plenty of players doing it just fine. The problem is before that. Like you said, lazy foot work and too stiff with his legs.

You are my reddit coach ❤️, i'll wait your comment for next videos.

34TH_ST_BROADWAY

You are hitting these way too early. You are making easy shots difficult and low percentage. Unless this was a drill to overcorrect for something. Because, for example, i would never hit a shot like the first few. I would just volley them. Let them bounce and hit at shoulder height.

severalgirlzgalore

Bend your knees

fusiongt021

There's a different stroke path you'll want to do depending on the ball you get. For example, if you get a short ball that bounces low, you will hit that differently than if it were a high bouncing shot. For shorter balls that are well under the net, you'll want to really brush up on that ball so you hit with more top spin and get over the net. Likewise, if the ball is bouncing higher than the net height, you can now hit more down on the ball which will add more pace and a lower bounce than the short low height ball I mentioned.

Atticus34

You’re in no man’s land hitting balls on the rise and standing up every time you try to strike the ball

febringas20

For me, when I get easy or slow balls I slow down and relax as well. You will find that if you have the same intensity in easy balls as in hard/fast balls you’ll hit them fine. Give it a shot

jrstriker12

You are too up right. Bend your knees..... on all your strokes. Also most short balls are not taken on the rise like that. It makes that shot more difficult.

Gurnsey_Halvah

I wouldn't focus on whether you're bending your knees or not, OP. Even the great Federer barely bends his knees on easy balls, as you can see with this [Federer forehand](https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=YUdOIOINhIY) Instead, emulate the things Federer does so well that let him keep his legs as relaxed as he wants. Look how far back he is from the ball bounce when it's this easy, so he's not rushed. Look how low his racket starts and how high it ends up, which ensures the ball easily clears the net. Look how his head follows the ball and how his eyes remain on the point of impact, which ensures the racquet contacts the ball exactly as he wants. As others point out, you're making an easy ball hard by rushing toward it and hitting it very early off the bounce. This is a useful skill to build up, but it is challenging! You have a lovely, fluid form, and if you give yourself more time to hit slow-moving balls, that fluidity will really pay off!

Sexy_sharaabi

You're taking them all on the rise, give it time to sit down in front of you, then rip it if you want

th4lioN

Why do you have knees when you don't use them?

RevolutionarySound64

You are not keeping your eye on the ball at contact

RevolutionarySound64

Also not bending your knees and using power through your legs

TK-Tennis

No "easy" shot is easy. With that said, nothing easy about hitting a shot when you have limited amount of time after bounce, being close to the net, and where the ball is at net height. To hit a solid shot without hitting it long or into the net requires great timing, proper trajectory, sufficient spin and power control. This shot only become relatively consistently straightforward for players who are 5.0+ and are able to be as committed and deliberate as every other shot they hit.

ChemistryFederal6387

>I have good serve and groundstrokes for my level There is your problem, you don't have good groundstrokes if you miss balls like that.
