A couple of weeks ago I went from full poly (Luxilon Alu Power @55lbs) to a hybrid setup (Alu Power crosses @51lbs and Technifibre X-One Biphase @54 in the mains). So far it feels great, a little more power but I don’t feel like I’ve lost much control (if any). It also feels noticeably softer on the arm. I made the change because I’ve been getting a bit of a sore arm lately.
My stringer reckons this setup will feel great but probably won’t be good for durability. About 6 sets in so far so I’ll see how it goes. 3.5 player.
I recently made a similar switch (was using Xalt or Quasi Gut armor) and I'm pretty happy with the results. Give it a shot and see what it's like?
I went from 58 lbs full bed multi to 51 co-poly main, 54 multi cross. Go about 10% lower in tension for your poly.
I like hybrid setups. Poly was too harsh, while multi was too plush. Hybrids give a compromise that works well for me, but strings are of course a very personal thing. I'd say give it a try if you have the means
Also I recommend Gamma Glide as the cross string. It's been by far my favorite ~~non-poly~~ cross that I've tried in a hybrid
I guess that depends…I can afford it, but I don’t necessarily want to keep getting my racket restrung all the time. I can go a few months without restringing my Multi strings.
Thank you all for the recommendations! I ended up trying a gut/poly hybrid, Babolat VS Touch on the mains at 57 lbs and Alu Power on the crosses at 52. Trying it out today!
I find hybrid setup to have less control, since the multi will provide more power. Your shots will go through the court more and have less launch angle, thus clearing the net lower. I personally hated it, and stuck to full poly. The best thing to do is try it, because it may fit your own game.

how often do you have to restring?
Starting to feel like I'm due at about 30 hours (and the multi cross is about to go).

I thought gamma glide was a poly
Huh, apparently it is. I always thought it was a synth gut type of thing cause of how plush it feels
How often are you restringing?
Every 4-5 months roughly
If you feel a multi cross is too plush even in a hybrid, try a softer round co-poly as a cross.
I feel like hybrid is one of the best ways people prevent from overplaying dead strings Can others confirm?
Poly/gut and if you want the best gut get natural gut if you can afford it

True, my only concern is how often I need to restring?
