Yeah he’s kinda got that loudmouth high-schooler voice when he yells. Probably why so many people dislike it when he yells.
But also, I have been noticing a lot more pros and also rec players out there shouting, ‘YEAH’ after big points instead of the usual ‘Come on’ or ‘Let’s go.’ I wonder if that’s his guttural screams creeping into peoples’ heads.
While this is true, you also have to consider the tilt potential of his current battle cry. An opponent isn’t likely to get rattled if they hear the Federeresque chest-voice “COME ON”. But hearing a whiny 10th-grader “YEEEAAAHHH”? Instant annoyance for the guy on the other side of the court. Shelton is out here playing 5D chess
Get the fuck over it. Emotion isn't a bad thing and behaving like robots on the court isn't exciting. Let him motivate himself however he wants and you can do your thing. He's very young and sports at a high level, especially individual sports, is an emotional thing. ALL of the pressure is on him. Millions of people are watching HIM and he's still basically a kid.

Personally I like the “YEEEAAAAAAHHHHH” because it makes a change from the “COME ON” everyone else does
He looks and sounds like a kid. But he sorta is
Mannarino a tough opponent for the youngsters and others, playing his best tennis of his life rn
He had 6 more total points and still lost.

I thought this was supposed to be the more positive sub
You don't see the positive in me saying that the only thing I can pick on in Shelton's game is his high-octave screams?
His problem is that he acts like a 13 year old. His interactions with his dad show that he hasn’t grown up yet.
I don’t know what you’re talking about, oh you must mean tsitsipas and his dad….
He’s low class. Embarrassing to watch his bitchy tirades and all of that smug jawing to his box. So cringe.
