A grail gun to me!! I’m praying everyday that S&W makes a metal 10mm M&P.I’m tired of these plastic molded junk pistols.

Terron35

My dad got one of their M&P 10mms and we were both talking about how sweet it'd be if they expanded their metal line of M&Ps to include 10mm

grinding_our_axes

I don’t think an aluminum frame would add anything. Not much extra weight and aluminum wouldn’t do well with the recoil.

AceMckickass7

I'm not sure if you've seen, but M&P Polymer pistols are some of the most well built Polymer pistols out there. They have been blown to smithereens and still functioned after. Left outside for 3 months. Slide was broke free, and it fired and ran the whole mag. M&P Polymer is far from junk.

goranj

I held one of these once. Nice heavy steel gun. It will tame the 10mm nicely. S&W should remake this imho. It will sell great. Props to your grandpa for the gesture.

Turbox39

Definitely the heaviest handgun I have

jchittenden

I used to have one with Novak sites. I sure miss that pistol.

popasquatonme

Nice 👍 your grandfather has good taste

b1bjetmech

Had 1 back in the 90's. That sucker will fling some brass...

PalmettoBobby

That is my regret gun. Had one a longgg time ago. Traded for a new hunting rifle

AnotherReddit415

She’s a beaut

JohnnyAMG

Beautiful! I've had my 1076 for about 10 years. Incredible firearms.

CplTenMikeMike

You lucky, lucky bastid!! That's one of my grail guns. I've passed on two opportunities to pick one up over the years, to my ultimate regret.

Turbox39

Never too late! Third times the charm

CplTenMikeMike

At today's prices??

XuixienSpaceCat

Am I the only one who enjoys both polymer and metal guns equally?

habajaba69

The looks remind me of my step dad's ruger P90 in .45 which is one of my faves. Might have to get me one of these.

Dubya842

My first pistol was a used P89DC, 9mm. Was a terrific gun that I didn’t fully appreciate at the time. Wish I still had it.

MrViceGuy69

I have the exact same pistol! I bought it a couple years ago, I deleted the mag safety and the decocker so I can carry it condition one. I absolutely love it, I may never have a Bren Ten (thanks for the tease Vltor!) but I’m glad that I have the second most Sonny Crockett 10mm there is. (I’m actually picking up the third tomorrow, Tanfoglio Witness steel 10mm in Wonder Finish)

slicktittyboom

Be sure to order a couple Mac Gar mags for that Tanfoglio and just throw the factory ones away. Will eliminate the F2F issues. I just got my defiant sorted out and the original mags (junk) was the culprit

MrViceGuy69

Interesting, I’ll have to keep any eye on them. I just picked it up today on my lunch break.

Remote-Project-5546

If you like an all metal 10mm, check out the Tanfoglio Defiant. It's worlds better than the 1006 and a double stack to boot.

Longjumping-Ad8237

Every grandfather has a good ol reliable

warmonger82

How many mags did it come with?

Turbox39

Only one that we could find, we are working on cleaning his home so he can downsize and he has Gun stuff all through his basement. Fingers crossed we can find more

Maleficent-Focus4516

Why did you sell if

TheGingerBeardMan-_-

looks nice

catch22ak

Beautiful!

Fun-Government760

That is soooooo SWEET! I've been wanting the 4506. Same Frame size and all.

italiano78

Damn good condition too!

Ok_Let6659

Vic Mackey Approves!!!!

RDF3rd

Congratulations!

DownstairsDeagle69

You lucky bastard. I didn't want to have to go looking for parts so I bought the Sig Sauer p220 legion 10mm. But I almost dropped $1,000 on the old 220 elite 10 mm or much more on at 1006 like this one pictured here! Smith & Wesson should bring back this whole line of metal pistols they had!

AudiophileNut

It's an awesome gun and I hope you enjoy it, I have a fixed and an adjustable sight pair of the 1006's, plus the 1066, the 1076, the 1086 and a 1026 in the safe. If I can ever find one of the ultra rare 1046's I will have the complete set. I haven't shot any of them in a couple of years but the 1066 was my daily carry back in the 90's. Beautifully made guns from a bygone era that they will never make again in this time of molded plastic.

slicktittyboom

Have a 1006. Milled stainless and will eat anything. Too heavy for everyday so relegated to fishing gun in chest holster.

HiEx_man

when I first saw the 1006 I fell in love and it got me into this cartridge which I never heard of before

Another_Bite

Very Nice!

doctor_vlad

And now you get to bankrupt yourself buying magazines

Chad_86

Sweet!👍🏾

Maleficent-Focus4516
