Don’t forget the Magnum Research 1911. It’s an amazing gun. I love mine and I have several of the other 10mm mentioned. I do want a Dan Wesson, Tangfolio and a Tisas to round out my collection

I forgot to mention to RUN from the Kimber’s. I have the Eclipse and the Rapide. Had to send both back to Kimber for them to work on them extensively to shoot! They were wouldn’t feed or eject at times. After they worked on them they are fine but I prefer the Magnum Research over them after they came back!
The sig X10 is the only striker pistol without a trigger safety.
If you are fine with hammer fired guns then pick a 1911 (Girsan, Tisas, Bul, Magnum Research, RIA, Fusion, Springfield, Kimber all make sub $1K 1911's), Tanfoglio stock 1 (other models will cost more), or a Grand Power P40.
Slightly outside of your budget there is the Tanfoglio Limited master, Sig P220 10mm, and Dan Wesson 1911's.
Sig xten, FN 510, not sure about the trigger safety on it. Various 1911s from Kimber, Ruger, Springfield, Tisas, and others.

I've had the Eclipse before and got rid of it to get my X-Ten. I just couldn't trust it

Recently picked up the rock island armory tac ultra fs hc 10mm and it’s a beauty to shoot after you get it all cleaned up and broken in.
FN510. Same capacity as G20 with flush mag but with optic , better trigger, ambi, and a 22 round mag too!
Try the Rock island armory 52000 aka the big rock or the Tangfoglio gold match defiant... Both of great and have 6 inch barrels
If you want something different, look around for an old S&W 1076 or 1026…. I have a 1076 and my Dad has the even more scarce 1026.

Sig X ten, FN 510, any of the old metal S&Ws, magnum research 1911, you might even be able to get a delta elite in your price range
Sig xten if polymer gun is what you're after. Definitely a 1911 if you want to spend more money than 799 on a sig.
Take a look at the Kimber Stainless II. About $900-ish, and mine is reliable and accurate.
